9 News: The problem with schools banning mobile phones that no one is talking about

Northern Territory is the latest state to ban mobile phones in schools. As I state in my interview let's think about the flip side of bans. Young people's technology use becomes hidden, leading to adults having little or no understanding of how students use phones. This means that there will be minimal or no guidance by adults, and no education around how to use phones and technology productively and in a healthy way. Banning is not a solution unto itself. It's the Year 2022. New curriculum needs to be introduced into schools to help young people live and work in the best ways possible for the era in which they are living in. If schools don't do this, then who does?
